The Bible has a great deal to say about money that every Christian should know and heed. Money is fundamental on earth, just as salvation is a prerequisite for gaining eternal life in heaven. Money is materialistic because it answers to things that are material in nature. Solomon said in his wisdom documentary in Ecclesiastes that a feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry, but money answereth all things. Meaning that, the essence of a living man on earth hangs in the hold up to money, without it, there can not be a feast. Certainly, there would be no wine to make merry, and without the feast, there is no laughter. What makes life difficult is not with money, but, there is simply a price for every product, every service, and every commodity.
Isaiah 55:1, “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” God is talking about something in disparity with our topic here. He is calling people to buy something ‘specific’. Note, ‘No money – No price’. The message I want to draw out is the money and price. Is there anything on this earth without a money used to buy them and without a price on it? If that were the case, then, for us as Christians, the Bible has so much to say about money.

As important as money is. God is saying, ” Though you labor, yet, I still provide. What Does the Bible Say About Hard Work and Getting Money
God is said to be a provider. But that perspective of God should not be taken as a perspective for us to stay indisciplined, unproductive, and lazy. That mind of God being a provider is for us to find a link to the dictate of his will about making money and what money is. This understanding would be a perfect guide to our stay on earth as we live in time.

There are financial prosperities today in the world. A series of such classes could be linked to the people of God. The Bible agrees with our wealth and prosperity. Sometimes, it is the tool to advance the course of God’s kingdom; evangelism. Poverty is not a designation to prove a point of God’s faithful. There are some people today who do not have much success in achieving financial breakthroughs, either because they have tried and failed or because they have not done anything for themselves to build. Believers must give. Show generosity. There is no honour to God in having money and not helping others. The Lord Jesus Christ even told us of storing heavenly treasures by doing the work of generosity and giving to the needy. It should be part of believers that calculating on what you give out and on the principle of return is not of God. The Bible is not against borrowing. In fact, a believer could take out a loan to fund his business. What the Bible is totally against is incurring debts, remaining in debts for useless reasons,s and with a mindset of not paying back in due time or not paying back at all. Avoid unnecessary debt, exercise financial prudence, and be able to repay.

In labour, such as in business. The Bible requires believers to have Godly priorities. There are spiritual dangers of greed. Contentment should be a principle for believers. Money should not make a believer a slave to sin, the world of unrighteousness and mischief.

The Bible talks about stewardship and the wise management of believers’ affairs with money. Believers who do not manage resources will go down quickly without the mercy of time. Managing resources positions believers to accountability and faithfulness.

Money and everything it can acquire are of the Lord. The Bible states clearly that everything we have ultimately is of the Lord. Talents and opportunities which drive in moneyable possessions are entrusted to us by him. Christians are mandated to manage resources faithfully and honor God with their finances. Psalm 24:1 says, ” The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it.
2. Without Work, There Is No Reward
Proverbs 14:23, “All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” Scriptures testified that hard work has a reward. Especially if it is honest. The mindset that God blesses without defined work is nothing but laziness. God has never blessed emptiness. Someone whose life is not connected to a pursuit.

Spiritual growth is more important in life than any other thing. Nothing should lead your service away from God’s. Knowing that financial success is not a life everlasting in God.

A wealthy Christian who has no compassion is not different from the Rich man who treated Lazarus badly. Prov 11:25, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
